Municipal Offices downtown Chatham seek pleasant focused multi-tasker for accounting & front desk clerical support. Highly visible position requires accurate accounting and data entry as well as record system maintenance and administrative functions. This is a full-time year-round position with benefits. Requires minimum HS diploma and 2 yrs experience in a reputable professional finance or accounting workplace. Requires excellent math skills, with demonstrated ability to manage data bases and interface effectively with the public. Starting pay is $1,457.40 bi weekly.

Cemetery Administrator

Town of Chatham seeks qualified compassionate individual to provide 6 to 12 hours/week administrative support to the Town’s Cemetery Committee within the Parks & Recreation Division of Department of Public Works. Position is the primary contact for burial services at the Town’s public cemeteries; responsible for sale of cemetery plots and arrangement of burials in accordance with Cemetery Committee Rules and Regulations. Also responsible for record keeping, data entry, correspondence and quality control. Pay range from $18.00/hr up to $21.93/hr., depending on applicant’s experience and qualifications.

Chatham seeks qualified individuals to join our Summer Team! Seasonal indoor and outdoor positions with early morning, mid-day and afternoon shifts available. All positions subject to CORI review. Some positions require Lifeguard Training or equivalent, Standard First Aid, and Professional Rescuer BLS/CPR or Water Safety Instructor Certification. Most positions are available from June through the Labor Day holiday (9/3/17). Pay rates range from $11.00/hr up to $20.00/hr. Rate of pay will depend on the position filled as well as applicant’s experience and qualifications.

Intermittent Recording Secretary:

Chatham seeks a qualified individual to fill the position of Intermittent Recording Secretary. The responsibilities of the position include providing recording secretary services for various boards and committees of the Town of Chatham. Committee meetings are typically in the late afternoon or evenings, and as a policy of the Town, the meetings are video recorded. The recording secretary will summarize the meeting activity and votes into succinct minutes for review and approval at a subsequent meeting. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, proven ability with computer based word processing applications, proven ability to document public municipal meetings, and good customer service skills. The starting rate of pay is $17.48 per hour. The position is intermittent in nature with an expectation of less than 10 hours per week, and not benefits eligible. This posting will remain until filled.

Assistant Department of Public Works Superintendent:

Chatham seeks a qualified individual to fill the position of Assistant Department of Public Works Superintendent. The responsibilities of the position include organizing and coordinating the day-to-day operational aspects of the public works, water & sewer, and facilities departments to include task/project prioritization, resourcing including contractor oversight, and scheduling/assigning based on resource availability. The position is involved in providing manpower and materials to existing projects to include providing estimates, tracking resources and expenses, managing assets, directing vendors if used, and preparing proposals with specifications for potential Department of Public Works projects. These responsibilities will be managed on a department work order system that will initiate, track, and close both internal and externally staffed projects. The position requires a high school diploma, with a college degree preferred, and a minimum of four years’ experience in public works engineering, construction, maintenance, stormwater control, water and sewer operations. Additionally, the position requires a valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license, and a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s license. This is a full-time benefits eligible year-round position. The position is a member of the Chatham Municipal Employees Association union. The starting pay rate is $2,224.00 bi-weekly. This posting will remain open until the position is filled.
