A winter storm will impact our area beginning tonight and lasting through Saturday morning. The greatest threats from this system are high winds and coastal flooding.
A high wind warning has been issued from 1 a.m. on Friday to 7 a.m. on Saturday. A coastal flood warning has been issued from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Frigid temperatures are also expected late Friday into Saturday and may cause hazardous conditions for driving.
Today is the day to prepare. There is a possibility of losing power, please plan for a potential outage. Charge your electronic devices. If you lose power, call Eversource at 1-800-592-2000 or use the Eversource app to report the outage and sign up for restoration alerts. Please note that high winds may delay restoration activities. If you see downed wires, stay away and call 911.
Bring in outdoor decorations that could become projectiles in high winds. If you live in an area prone to flooding, consider staying somewhere else. Register with the Town to receive Emergency Notifications.
The Town of Chatham Emergency Management Team is prepared to respond before, during, and after the storm. Town departments are in constant communication and work together to meet the needs of our community.
For emergencies dial 9-1-1! For general storm related questions and concerns please call 508-945-5191.
