The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be removing passing zones on Orleans Road and Old Harbor Road beginning on or around April 6th.
Areas will be re-striped to solid (no passing) from dashed (passing).
This issue was discussed by the Town’s Traffic Safety Committee which reached out to MDOT about it. According to Director of Public Works, Rob Faley, MDOT had been considering some improvements to the area, and the input from our Traffic Safety Committee reinforced their plans.
Work will be weather dependent, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drivers traveling in the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
